Made by Newhaven-based designer Marc Fish, the Nautilus II Table is without doubt one of most beautiful and amazing coffee tables I’ve seen to date. A statement piece inspired by the marine life, Nautilus II table combines inventive construction techniques and CAD to offer an organic-inspired furniture design. The inviting table features 4000 individual pieces of walnut and sycamore veneer in its complex construction. The use of golden ratio, aka the divine proportion, helped achieve the stunning design that resembles the shape of a seashell. The texture of the Nautilus II imitates the shell’s exterior that has been crafted by hand carving the fluted growth patterns.
The logarithmic spiral is 10mm thick and the inside of the table enjoys a satin shine. The Nautilus II table has been produced in a limited run of five units, and each piece is distinctive in color and style.
