Award winning Swedish fashion designer Helena Hörstedt has re-invented an old IKEA chair to create the “Earth’s finest armchair”. The beautiful armchair has been designed as part of Ecoration, a collaborative project between IKEA and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that emphasizes on green living at home. Helena Hörstedt used an old IKEA POÄNG armchair and covered it with AINA, a black linen fabric. Moreover, a number of folds and pleats have given the chair a 3D surface, which speaks of Helena’s signature style.
The Earth’s finest armchair is up for auction at Tradera/eBay and the profits will go to WWF’s project for tropical forests.
