The roof is a part of the home that most people don’t even think about until it needs to be repaired and or completely replaced. Even though there are many clear telltale signs when a roof is in need of attention, this vitally important structure remains neglected the majority of the time. Why? Perhaps because of that old adage, “Out of sight, out of mind.”

1. Check Your Attic
The first place to check if you are concerned you might need a new roof is your attic. Look for water leaks or water stains. Check insulation for signs of moisture. Also, you need to check and see if you can see light coming though the beams from the outside in. Water leaks, water stains and light penetrating from the outside in are all signs of a leaky roof.

8. Sagging Roof
A roof that needs to be replaced is one that droops or sags. A roof in that type of condition is likely causing structural damage to your home and will continue to do so until it is replaced.
