Inspired by the world of camping, Austrian-born, London-based Stephanie Hornig has designed an elegant furniture line, which includes Camp Table, Camp Daybed and the Camp Lamp. The designer compared the living styles of modern nomads with camping and its sense of lightness and independence. Based on the concept of autonomy, the objects in the Camp furniture collection do not need you to drill holes in the wall or remove doors.
They are evocative of the camping lifestyle and can be directly transferred and recombined in order to enhance functionality. While these pieces keep intact their functional character, but at the same time are frozen in their movement. The objects – a sleeping bag on legs, an umbrella stand with a big tabletop and a flashlight in an outlet power strip made out of stone – are visually light and can be moved with ease.
