After the LIFX Wi-Fi enabled multicolored LED light bulb, the open-source Visualight bulb by Leif Percifield and the Light by Moore’sCloud, we now have the Spark, a smart socket that connects your lights to the internet over Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n). With the Spark Socket, you can control the lights from a smartphone, tablet or your PC. The Spark connects to any standard light bulb socket and opens doors to a range of possibilities. When you reach home at late hours or wake up in the middle of the night, you can turn on all the lights to guide your path with a single click. You can even use the bedroom lights as an alarm clock, as they fade slowly to awake you naturally.
The Spark can get your lights to flash when you receive an email or text message on any social website. You can also dim the lights to suit your mood and needs. Easy to use and install, the Spark also offers a software development platform, so that people may develop new apps for Spark. Prototypes of Spark have already been developed and tested and now, its makers are looking for funding to back the project.
