Ube launches crowdfunding campaign for its Wi-Fi connected Smart Dimmer

Ube Wi-Fi Connected Light Dimmer

After the LIFX LED light bulb, the open-source Wi-Fi enabled Visualight bulb, the Light by Moore’sCloud, Spark smart socket and the Belkin WeMo Light Switch from CES 2013, we now have the Wi-Fi Connected Multi-touch Smart Light Dimmer from the house of Demo 2012 People’s Choice winner Ube. The UBE’s Wi-Fi dimmer switch lets you have full control of the home lighting from the switch or from a smartphone app.  The Ube Smart Dimmer replaces your existing current switch or dimmer, and easily connects to your Wi-Fi router.

The Dimmers can communicate among themselves to control lighting fixtures across a single room or the entire house. You can set the lighting to different scenes, such as party, dinner, all-on or all-off. Moreover, each Ube Smart Light Dimmer boasts sub-metering, which informs you of the energy usage for each light switch, so that you can keep a tab on your electricity bills. The Dimmer is available in two versions. The Premium Ube Smart Multi-touch dimmer ($69) features a capacitive multi-touch interface that functions like your smartphone and lets you use different gestures to control one, multiple or all lights.

On the other hand, Ube Basic Dimmer ($49) comes with a Tactile Button instead of the multi-touch interface. Ube is currently running an Indiegogo campaign to fund its Wi-Fi Connected Multi-touch Smart Light Dimmer, with deliveries expected to start in June 2013.
