Wi-Fi enabled Visualight light bulb displays data as colored light

Hardly a few days have passed when we introduced you to the LIFX Wi-Fi enabled multicolored LED light bulb and now, we have yet another innovative light bulb design dubbed Visualight by Leif Percifield. The open-source Wi-Fi enabled light bulb visualizes data as colored light. The Visualight displays emails, text messages, social network updates and other news articles information as colored light. The Visualight system connects to data feeds from Twitter, Gmail, Facebook, Weather Underground and New York City’s MTA. The users also have the option to customize the colors as per the information. Developers can can also add other data sources through API.

You can adjust the Red, Green, and Blue values from zero – 255 to create any color of your liking. Moreover, you can turn the Visualight light bulb on and off by data feeds or through a smartphone, tablet or computer. In case, there are updates or alerts, the Visualight glows white like a regular bulb.
