Airblade maker Dyson patents a faucet that doubles as hand dryer

Dyson, the UK maker of vacuum cleaners and hand dryers, has now patented a water tap that dries your hands too. As seen in U.S. patent application 2012/0291195 filed last week, the dual-purpose fixture intended for use with a sink or washbasin incorporates both a water tap and a hand dryer. The innovative faucet features two or more hand-dryer nozzles places on both sides of the spout for easy drying. The hands-free unit uses sensors to release the water and dry your hands.

While the fixture is primarily targeted at public washrooms to ease the hand drying process, it would easily find place inside many homes if the patent meets realism.
