How is this lamp not falling down from the table? The Balance luminaire by Belgian Industrial designer Tore Bleuzé balances perfectly on the edge of a table and never falls down, thereby creating an attention-grabbing optical illusion. The weight of the battery and the electronics at the base of the Balance lamp moves the center of gravity under the table’s edge, which keeps it from falling down. The aluminum supporting structure houses the acrylate embraced OLED.
The Balance lamp was designed in collaboration with industrial designer/lighting researcher Ralf Nafzger and OLED Applications Researcher Dieter Dekeyzer to explore the potential of OLED technology.
