Designed for the urban apartments in the year 2015, the Delikts is a compact mobile super steam indoor heater and clothes dryer. Following the “no wall approach” with respect to the ever increasing space problems in the urban setting, the Delikts for Electrolux aims to offer an intelligent mobile solution that aims to combine two of the major household energy consuming devices – Clothes Dryer and Space Heater – in one unit to reduce the overall energy usage. Designed by Hollie Baigent, the Delikts draws inspiration from the stunning design and curves of the famous Bang and Olsen freestanding speakers. Disguised as a living room heater, the Delikts doubles as a clothes dryer with a twist.
As a clothes dryer, the Delikts is primarily meant for washing and drying expensive lingerie, so that you don’t have to hang your lingerie in the open to dry. Delikts adapts this unique system to steam clothes. Super steaming gathers saturated steam from the moisture in clothes and recycles it to dry and sanitize laundry. The simple touch interface and the design details illuminate gradually at the competition of the dryer cycle.
