Inspired by his past family tailgating experiences and the nuisance of not finding a compact, portable charcoal grill that could fit easily inside his family van, Dave Benjamin has created the Hot Box Grill, a portable charcoal grill and smoker for tailgating and camping. This portable grill is big enough to grill a turkey and folds up in under five minutes, so that you can easily take it anywhere. The compact Hot Box Grill has an all galvanneal heavy-duty steel body and a powder coated hood with a high temperature black powder coating.
The portable grill uses durable stainless steel hinges and legs, and high temperature plastic handles and attachment knobs. The Hot Box Grill is air tight and features 370 square inches of cooking surface, two charcoal heights with multiple charcoal trays for sear and slow roasting and adjustable vents on the and the fire box. For ease of portability, they have developed “Log Style” carrying cases, one for the fire box, hood and ash pan and the other for the food grates, charcoal grates and the four stainless steel legs.
