Jiwon Choi designs a beautiful vase using DuPont Tyvek waterproof paper

Jiwon Choi Tyvek Vase

With an aim to create a simple, lightweight and sturdy package for flowers, Rhode Island School of Design graduate Jiwon Choi has designed the Tyvek Vase. The Tyvek Vase has been made using a comparatively new material, DuPont Tyvek, which is a tear-resistant waterproof paper made from plastic fibers. Designed a few days before Valentine’s Day, the Tyvek Vase offers a new approach to the use of this new industry material. Moreover, Tyvek can be repurposed after the flowers go into the soil for making products, such as corrugated pipes and landscape material.

Jiwon Choi is currently on the hunt for some manufacturer to put her Tyvek Vase into production.
