London 2012 Olympic village furniture goes on sale

The London 2012 Olympics hasn’t even kicked off yet and the organizers have put the furniture from the London 2012 Olympic village on sale. If you are lucky enough, you might get to sleep in the bed used by renowned sporting personalities like Usain Bolt. The items on sale include beds, beanbags, cabinets, chairs and other furniture items that will be shipped to the buyers after the Olympics with an authentication letter. There are 10,146 beds from the athletes’ rooms (£39.99 each), 100 Complete Superlong Extended Olympic Beds (£149 each) and 1,000 Athlete’s Bedroom 4 Piece sets that include a bed, mattress, lockable bedside table and lamp (£99 each).

All the items on sale will be repacked and crosschecked to ensure good condition and quality. Ramler Furniture, the firm that will supply more than a million items for the London 2012 Games, is handling the special sale through a dedicated website. Other furniture items on sale include 14,872 bedside lamps, 6,326 cushions, 7,496 clothes drying racks and 17,978 folding chairs. They aim to sell all the sale items by October.
