Make bath time more fun for kids with a funky bathroom

A lot of kids hate getting into the bath and try to cook up whatever excuse they can to skip bath time. What would be the best way then, to make a bath a more enjoyable activity for kids so that they don’t run for cover the moment they hear the word ‘bath’? Here are some pointers that may help.

Make the bathroom more colorful and vibrant

Kids love colors. So consider painting the bathroom in bright shades of their favorite colors. You can also stick decals and drawings of their favorite cartoons on the walls to create a theme that would attract your kids to the bathtub.

Make the bathroom a safer area

It is important to ensure that the bathroom is safe enough for your kids as even small accidents could create a fear in their minds, forcing them to run away whenever you want to give them a bath. Ensure that all the water fixtures have anti-scalding features while the electrical outlets are covered with plug covers. Replace slippery shower stalls, curtains and rugs with water absorbent ones to minimize the risk of accidents while bathing.

Add toys

Adding a few of your kid’s favorite toys to the bathtub would surely make your kids enjoy bath time more and actually look forward to it. A great tip in this case would be to give your kids some containers (with different shapes and sizes) as toddlers usually love filling up and measuring cups.

Consider playing pretend games

Rather than fussing with your little one for a bath, pretend to play a game wherein his toy is dirty and needs to be washed, or her doll needs to have a shower instead. This way, your kid will be more engrossed in his/her own activity to really fuss about the bath.

Singing songs helps too

Singing a song would not only help your kids to relax in the bath. It would also encourage them to sing along and actually enjoy bath time. Try choosing songs that your kid loves to sing. You can also use props to enact the songs so that your toddler would enjoy the act more.

Opt for outdoor showers

A great way to make your kids enjoy bath times would be to opt for outdoor showers. This can work well during summers where you can simply fill water in an inflatable pool and ask your kids to jump in. They will love it for sure and you will have the opportunity to give them a bath without worrying about any tantrums.

There is no need to worry about dragging your kids to the bathroom every day now. With a little bit of creativity and effort, you can transform bath time into an enjoyable activity for your toddlers.
