Adding playfulness to the home lighting, designer Tamara Svonja has come up with an interactive lamp that lets users control the light and shadows by altering its shape. Hailed as “Neon Tree,” the playful lamp presents an uncomplicated but at the same time rational design for easy interaction. Hooking up nine stainless steel tubes that the users can arrange in different ways to play with their ideas, the creative lamp stands firmly on the floor, thanks to tree lower tubes.
Chosen by Creative Space Serbia to be presented at the 2012 Salone del Mobile of Milan, the interactive lamp holds neon tubes firmly in a hollow space at the top ends of stainless steel tubes. Based on the principle of the ball head of a tripod camera, the upper tubes also incorporate a moving ball to rotate the upper tubes at a radical 360° angle, while keeping them intact.
Featuring a flexible design, the Neon Tree can virtually be rotated to any direction, so users could produce different shades to illuminate their space according to their lighting needs and tastes.
