OYD Design’s flatpack chairs focus on minimum resource usage and maximum function

OYD Design FS Chair

Space saving, cost effective and easily transportable, flat packed furniture has become a trendy choice with the homeowners nowadays. Designed with the motto of “Minimum resource usage – maximum function”, the FS Chair by OYD Design is a DIY-inspired chair that has been cut out of only one birch plywood panel, leaving behind a little wasted wood. Weighing in at 7.5 kg, the FS chair can be easily packaged and shipped as a flat pack unit, thereby reducing the transportation costs.

The FS chair has no metal parts or glue and one can easily assemble with without the help of any screws. Another work from the house of OYD Design is the FL inout lounge chair that is made from a web of polyester and a frame of wood plastic composite material. There is a cushion tied underneath the web by straps. The flatpack FL Inout lounge chair can be assembled at home with eight screws. The whole idea behind both the FS chair and the FL Inout chair is the use of minimum materials with a focus on ease of use, shipping and assemblage.
