SCRA, FXFOWLE team up for $75,000 composite art bar

Non-stock, tax-exempt applied research corporation SCRA has joined forces with New York based design firm FXFOWLE to create a composite art bar from recycled carbon fiber material taken from scrap parts. The serving Art Bar lately reached Miami and is being currently exhibited in the FXFOWLE Lounge Pavilion at the Miami Project, the international art fair (Dec 4-9, 2012). The material used in the making has been taken from old aircraft components, and has been developed by South Carolina firm, MIT-RCF.

The art bar is on sale with an asking price of $75,000 and the proceeds will go to charities. SCRA is also considering a limited production run of no more than 10 more pieces of the art bar.
