Hardly a day passes when we don’t get to see some amazing lamp designs and the Spring Lamps by Oslo-based designer Kristine Five Melvær are no exception. Unusual and unique, the Spring Lamps move towards the ceiling like blooming flowers to add a new character to your space. These lamps, when placed in a number, give an impression of a glowing forest. The largest lamp in the collection stands 2-meters tall. When the user turns on the Spring lamp, the flesh-toned textile changes from opaque to transparent.

Kristine will exhibit four new series of prototypes for the Spring Lamps at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2013. The materials used to create these beautiful lamps are welded steel cord structure, elastic textile coating, and textile-covered electrical cord. Norwegian Designer Kristine Five Melvær emphasizes on the communicative potential of an objects as a means to create an emotional connection between object and user.
