Run by the core team of David Wilson, Jason Winder and Emmanuelle Bastide-Wilson, Dovetailors aims to design furniture pieces that meet the exact requirements of its clients. When David Wilson was commissioned to design and create a modern three-legged chair, he came up with a high-tech solution to do the same. The North Yorkshire based furniture designer cited that it wouldn’t have been possible to create the Tripod chair, featuring a solid maple and steel design with a single leg at its front and two at the back, without the help of modern technology, computers in this case.
The client wanted his designer chair to stand perfect even on an uneven stone floor. Every piece of wood that went into the making of the chair was either curved, tapered or both. While the idea of a three-legged chair might appear a bit unusual for many, but Dovetailors are not new to requests for such unique designs.
