Donald Fodness explores functional art with strange furniture units

If you are on the lookout for some unusually interesting furniture pieces, you might love to check out artist Donald Fodness’ furniture collection designed as part of a recycling project. Donald Fodness combine handcrafted woodworking and metal fabricating techniques with ready-made found objects to create unique furniture items. More of a functional art, these pieces relate to artist’s passion for folk aesthetics. The Sideboard from his collection is made from a motorcycle frame, coat tree and casters. The distorted spaces of the motorcycle frame were filled with plywood boxes to add functionality to the product.

The Coffee Table has been made by combining together two institutional chairs. While these furniture units by Donald Fodness might appear somewhat strange at the first glance, but they are functional and could make for statement pieces inside your home.
