Upcycled scrap marble tables by John Reeves

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. While driving his motorbike past streets in Ho Chi Minh, designer John Reeves found heaps of scrap pieces of marble and thought of giving the waste a second life as beautiful tables. John Reeves has created a series of tables with upcycled laminated and turned scrap marble for the legs with oak tops. While creating the tables, no two colors have been arranged next to each other and the each leg features whites and blacks.

All the scrap marble pieces are cut to a rough size, skewered and then laminated down the threaded rod, which acts as a bridge between legs and the carbon oak tabletop. When turned, the inner beauty of the scrap pieces comes to life once again.
