You can actually eat this lamp and that’s no joke!

Designed by New York-based Victor Vetterlein, “Bite Me” is an edible desk lamp you can actually eat when don’t need it anymore. The lamp has been made from biodegradable plastic derived from vegetable glycerin and agar, a gelatin made from sea algae. Therefore, when you feel like easting a lamp, you can always have “Bite Me” on your plate. Do not forget to remove the lighting strip before you get down feasting.

The LED light source has been attached to the main body using a clear plastic adhesive strip, and the electricity passes through the laser-cut metal lines. The inspiration for the project came from the book Green Plastics – an Introduction to the New Science of Biodegradable Plastics by E.S. Stevens.
