Litter boxes have been a hygienic solution for the cat owners for years now to give their pets a private and comfortable place for their dirty business. Thinking that the cat litter boxes available on the shelves have not changed much for decades, Peter Hoffmann, an avid cat lover and founder and CEO of Econimal, Germany came up with the idea of a highly elegant and functional cat toilet that serves the needs of both cats and their owners. The idea was realized with cooperation from Professor Luigi Colani, a well-known designer, who supported Peter Hoffmann with the project from the beginning.
Professor Luigi Colani has 20-40 cats at his country estate in South of France. His personal experiences, along with views of the experts, were taken into consideration while developing and designing the Katoi cat toilet. The elegant cat toilet can be used closed, half-open or even completely open. There is an integrated ergonomic handlebar for secure handling. There are no corners and edges, which makes cleaning easy. The prototype of the Katoi cat toilet was exhibited at the INTERZOO 2012, where it received positive feedback from the international media and global trade visitors.
In order to put this design toilet for cats into production, they have launched a crowdfunding campaign at Indiegogo and hope to raise US $100,000.
