Eva Zeisel’s Leucos lighting collection debuts a year after her death

Before celebrated ceramic artist Eva Zeisel, a self declared “maker of useful things”, died last year at 105, she was working closely with Italian lighting firm Leucos USA for her first lighting collection. The designer collaboration was announced last year in July, and it marked Zeisel’s first foray in the lighting category. Now, her collection of six lighting pieces based on two shapes has been made available. The ‘Summer’ and ‘Spring’ light fixtures exhibit Zeisel’s signature style of stunning curves and organic silhouette.

Josie Anthony, president of Leucos, said that it took them almost a year of joint effort to bring her beautiful designs in Leucos’ signature hand blown glass to the shelves. Available at Gracious Home, the Leucos Summer Pendant ($695) enjoys smooth-lined suspension in mouth-blown Venetian glass in a honey hue. The flat canopy and a polished chrome finish make it a luxurious lighting fixture.

On the other hand, the Leucos Spring Pendant ($685) has been done in crisp white hue. The collection also includes wall sconces and table lamps.
