The living spaces in the cities are shrinking fast, which prevents many homeowners from exercising their green thumb. Winner of the illustrious “I Design Award” in Building Components and Sanitaryware Design Category, the Grobric is an urban micro-farming product that can be integrated into the walls of your home at the point of construction. Designed by Manojna Bellur, the Grobric can be used to grow food plants both inside and outside of the house.
Made from concrete, acrylic, plastic and glass, the Grobric wall planter comprises of an interior frame, a glass pane, a tub to hold the soil and plants, and a concrete brick. Once installed, the bezel of the tub and the water outlet pipe is visible from the outside. The whole idea behind the Grobric urban micro-farming product was to cleverly utilize the wall spaces in urban settings to encourage sustainable living.
