Handmade Jacaranda Cygnet lamp by John Galvin Design

Born in Ireland and living currently in Glasgow’s west end, furniture artist John Galvin has been creating bespoke furniture units that ask for appreciation for their intriguing and artistic designs. Unveiled at the Saatchi gallery in May 2011 as part of the Collect, the international art fair for contemporary objects, the Jacaranda Cygnet Lamp by John Galvin is a beautiful lighting fixture that would look stunning in any modern or traditional setting. The Cygnet lamp was initially made from Purple Heart, but it’s being made now in ash, oak and walnut.

Whether is the shade, dimmer switch, light pendant or the support, every single element of the Jacaranda Cygnet Lamp is handmade. The finishing has been done with Danish oil to add to the aesthetics of the lamp. The Jacaranda Cygnet Lamp with a comforting glow was also awarded the World Architecture News lighting design of the year.

Cheers! John Galvin Design
