When Axel Yberg of Akke Functional Art, a modern furniture design company, was asked by the winner of a charity auction to create a coffee table, Yberg made him the custom Movie Stars. The custom piece has space to house all the client’s AV components and it could be used as a bookshelf too. When the TV is not turned on, one of the client’s paintings conceals it in style. Moreover, the whole piece was disassembled in order to hide the clutter of the electric wires. It took them three days to complete this tricky process.
Since the client doctor wanted his order to be completed Rosh Hashanah, Yberg thought of brining Jewish representation in Movie Stars. For the same, he opted for the stars in shape of the Star of David. The glass top has been secured with hexagon bushings, with hexagon being the highlight symbol in the Star of David. A variety of wood was used to create the multifunctional Movie Stars table.
