One of the founders of the design group FRONT, award-winning designer Katja Pettersson has taken folding IKEA furniture units and covered them with an elastic outer material the same way skin covers our bones and muscles. The unique furniture collection called Skin has been made for Stockholm’s Crystal contemporary art gallery for temporary exhibitions. The materials covering the IKEA furniture is a readymade combination of tricot and zippers, which decides on the shape of the object.
An independent designer since 2009, Katja Pettersson has been working with investigating design projects in the “The Fifty Fifty Projects”.
