After the Light a Moment candle lantern, creative label Laikingland, which is based in both the UK and The Netherlands, is now offering an exclusive sand timer that indicates the passing of time with the sound of a gong. Designed by Maarten Baas for Laikingland, “Just About Now” sand timer was born out of the designer’s interest in ways to indicate time. The designer thinks that during a coffee break, a powernap or an office meeting, people in western world could take a few minutes longer or shorter than an exact amount of time. Therefore, he created a sand timer that bangs a gong about the time indicated by the user.
The “Just About Now” sand timer is made from oak, glass, ceramic, sand and brass. Priced at £3600, this sand timer is made to order and comes individually numbered.
