Peter Marigold’s irregular yet complete Lent shelving unit

Created by Peter Marigold for the exhibition ‘Knock on Wood’ at Tools Galerie in Paris this year, the Lent is a unique shelving unit that asks for immediate attention with its uneven shape. The logs that have been divided into four pieces function as the corners of the boxes. While the irregular angles make for a non-uniform structure, the unit is complete as the total angles of a split form total to 360 degrees in all cases.

Part of Peter’s Split series, the Lent shelving system has its slatted wood levels made with the left over wood pieces in the designer’s studio.
